We start the day with Daily Slokas, Slokas, and Mantras to be chanted before our day-to-day activities and some slokas for prayer at home. We are working in this world on behalf of God. Every breath of our life should remember Him. We should start thinking of him with the following slokas as soon as we get up in the morning.

Daily Slokas

Morning On Waking

|| karāgre vasate lakṣhmi karamadhye sarasvati
karamūle tu govindaḥ prabhāte karadarśanam ||

Meaning:

Lakshmi is positioned at the forefront of the hands, Saraswathi is in the middle, and Gauri is at the root; therefore, see the palm at dawn. (first).


Before you get to the floor

|| samudravasane devi parvatastanamaṇḍale
viṣṇupatni namastubhyaṃ pādasparśaṃ kṣamasvame ||

Meaning:

O Goddess, wearing oceans and adorned with mountains, I bow to you, Vishnu’s consort. Pardon me for touching you with my feet.


Bathing Time

|| gaṅge ca yamune caiva godāvari sarasvati
narmade sindhu kāveri jale’smin saṃnidhiṃ kuru  ||

Meaning:

The sacred waters of Ganga, Yamuna, Godavari, Saraswathi, Narmada, Sindhu, and Kaveri…., Let us pray that all these have a divine confluence in this water.


Praying to Sun God

|| ādhitya hrudhāya puṇyaṃ sarva sathṛ vināsanaṃ
jayāvahaṃ jabe nityaṃ akṣayaṃ paramaṃ śivaṃ ||

Meaning:

Chanting the Aditya-Hridayam, a sacred meditation on the Sun within the heart, is highly auspicious and beneficial. It brings victory in battles, destroys enemies, and ensures lasting happiness.


Morning Prayers

|| śuklāmbaradharaṃ viṣṇuṃ śaśivarṇaṃ caturbhujam
prasannavadanaṃ dhyāyet sarvavighnopaśāntaye ||

Meaning:

To overcome all obstacles, seek the blessings of Vishnu, adorned in pure radiance, shining like the moon, with four arms, and a perpetually joyful and pleasant profile.


Meal Time

|| brahmārpaṇaṃ brahma haviḥ brahmāgnau brahmaṇā hutam
brahmaiva tena gaṃtavyaṃ brahmakarma samādhinā ||

Meaning:

The practitioner of karma yoga, the offering is divine, the oblation is divine, and it is the divine that presents it to the fire of the divine. In this way, one attains realization of the divine and ultimately reaches only to Him.


Study Time

|| sarasvati namastubhyaṃ varade kāmarūpiṇi
vidyārambhaṃ kariṣyāmi siddhirbhavatu me sadā  ||

Meaning:

O Saraswathi, please grant your blessings and fulfill my wishes! As I start my studies, I may have everlasting success and fulfillment forever.


Prayer before sleeping

|| rāmaṃ skandhaṃ hanumantaṃ vainateyaṃ vṛkodaraṃ
śayane yaḥ smarennityam dusvapna-stasyanaśyati ||

Meaning:

By praying to Lords Rama, Subrahmanya, Hanumantha, Garuda, and Bhima before bedtime every day, one ensures sweet dreams and a peaceful night’s sleep.
