One day Krishnadevaraya was chitchating with Tenali Ramakrishna. Of course, Ramakrishna was making him laugh by telling jokes.

“Ramakrishna, people say ‘Raja Pratyaksha Devata’. But I have one doubt. Will there be any more excellent than me?”

“Why not? There are people more excellent than you”

“What are you talking about? I am supreme in my kingdom. Who is there in this kingdom more excellent than me? Who are they?”

“Children, Maharaja, Children. People treat children as God.”

“What? children? Can you prove your statement?”

“Sure, You give me a week. I shall prove that children are excellent.”

“Agreed. You may prove.”

One week passed. Ramakrishna went to the palace with a pretty male child in his armpit. After he reached the palace he made the child walk step by step. In their chairs sat the King and Queen. The child was so pretty that the queen took the child and kissed it. At the same time, the child passed urine on the body of the queen. The queen wiped off the urine. Then the king took the child and kissed it. Now the child pulled the mustache of the king. Then the child spits saliva.

“Ramakrishna, this child is mischievous. You take this” the king said.

That is why Maharaja, I said last week that the children were very good,” Ramakrishna replied.

“How do you say?”

“The child passed urine on the queen’s body. You kept quiet. The child pulled your mustache. You didn’t say anything. The child spit saliva on you. Also, you didn’t say anything. That means the child is better than you. Isn’t it?”

Krishnadevaraya agreed.

He presented a golden necklace to the child.

Then he praised Ramakrishna and gave him huge presents.

From time immemorial, children are treated as gods.
